Sarah Thorn
Sarah is a provisionally registered psychologist who completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) at UWA. She is currently completing her Master of Professional Psychology at Latrobe University, while
working towards general registration through the 5+1 pathway.
Post graduating, Sarah accepted a six-month internship with the Alzheimer's Research Foundation. She has also held a Research Assistant position in UWA's Human Factors and Applied Cognitive Psychology Laboratory before gaining experience as a Sleep Technician in a busy Perth hospital.
More recently Sarah has been working with children, teenagers, and adults living with complex disabilities as a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Clinician. Her work involves developing and implementing strategies that assist clients, and their families manage behaviour in positive ways. She strives to empower her clients to achieve their NDIS goals by building skills in independence and social interactions, aiding their full participation within the community and improve their overall well-being.
Sarah aims to create a warm, compassionate, and supportive environment where clients feel safe to engage in the therapeutic process. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work and is experienced in anxiety, depression, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, selective mutism, emotional dysregulation and behavioural challenges.
Outside of work you can find Sarah at a café, the beach, running around her local neighbourhood or dreaming up yet another creative project to embark! on.
