FEES

Fees for counselling consultations are guided by the recommendations outlined by the AAPI (The Australian Association of Psychologists). The current recommended fee (from July 2024) for a consultation of 50-60 min is $315. At Mini Minds we offer a reduced maximum fee of $290 for a Clinical Psychologist. This fee may be reduced depending on the title and experience of the practitioner. (Please note, these fees will adjust each year depending on recommended rates)
REFERRALS
Medicare
You do not need a referral to make an appointment, however if you wish to claim through Medicare you will need a referral from your General Practitioner via the 'Better Access to Mental Health Care' initiative. This allows a Medicare rebate for up to 10 counselling consultations per calendar year.
Medicare offers several other programs under which eligible clients can claim back counselling and assessment fees. Please refer to the below website for more information:

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Mini Minds is not a registered provider with NDIS. However, you are able to use your funds with us through a 'self managed' or 'plan managed' process. It is not possible to use funds with us for services if you have an 'agency managed' plan.
Private Health
Please contact your private insurer to enquire whether you can claim for any of our services through your individualised health insurance ancillary cover.
