Julia Mariano
Julia is a provisionally registered psychologist currently working towards general registration through the 5+1 pathway. She completed both her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Masters of Professional Psychology at Curtin University.
In her previous role within the Department of Education, Julia gained valuable experience conducting psychological assessments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and developing tailored support plans for students. Her work focused on understanding the academic, emotional, and social needs of young children, using evidence-based approaches to foster meaningful, positive outcomes.
Julia aims to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment where clients feel safe, respected, and heard. With a person-centred approach to care, she has a strong belief in building trust and working collaboratively to support each person’s unique goals and strengths.
Julia is particularly passionate about providing early intervention to assist children and their families, understanding the benefits this support can have in shaping long-term wellbeing and development. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques, to tailor support that best fits each individual’s needs.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring new cafes, and getting lost in a good book.
