Georgia Bennett
Georgia is a Registered Psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience and Health Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) at Murdoch University. Georgia has completed her Postgraduate training through the Psychology Board of Australia’s 4+2 internship program.
Since graduating from her Bachelor degree at the end of 2020,
Georgia has worked as a Psychosocial Recovery Coach and is currently employed as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner/Provisional Psychologist for an NDIS registered disability organisation. Georgia has worked with people who have a primary diagnosis of Acquired Brain Injury; Neurological and Non-Traumatic Brain Injury including Huntington’s Disease and various types of Dementia (Early Onset Alzheimer’s/Wernicke-Korsakoff’s); Psychosocial Disabilities such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Anxiety, Depression and Complex Personality Disorder; Intellectual Disability; Genetic Disorders including Down syndrome and Prader Willi syndrome; and Neurodevelopmental Disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autistic) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Georgia provides person-centred psychological assessment, intervention and counselling with people who want support to participate more fully in their life; and through this, to understand barriers that may be impacting on their overall quality of life. This includes developing an understanding of a person’s unmet needs and how to support their family and/or wider system (accommodation provider, school, employer and community supports) to meet these needs while supporting the whole system’s health and wellbeing.
In her spare time, Georgia is a parent of two neurodivergent adolescents. Georgia has navigated the assessment and diagnosis journey and is keen to provide sensitive and considered support to other children, adolescents, and their families.
