Cathy Maslen-Regan

Cathy is a registered Psychologist (provisional), who is passionate about inclusivity and diversity. She enjoys guiding young people and families to understand their unique set of strengths and challenges, how to implement strategies to reduce stress and anxiety and to optimise wellbeing and outcomes.

Cathy completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology, double major) at the University of Western Australia, then a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at Murdoch University. Cathy is currently studying a Master of Professional Psychology at Curtin University and is enrolled in the Psychology Board of Australia’s 5+1 pathway.

Cathy is parent to 3 teenagers and has had very different experiences with each of her children. Cathy is passionate about the benefits of early intervention to assist children, families and teachers to understand the best ways an individual child learns. Cathy has experience working in early intervention with culturally and linguistically diverse groups. She is interested in adoption and attachment, gender identity, self-esteem and body image issues, anxiety, grief and loss, and supporting children after separation, divorce, adjustment to blended families and other life transitions.

Cathy is warm and empathic and believes a good client-practitioner relationship is key to successful outcomes in therapy.

Cathy has 3 dogs and a cat, and enjoys walking her dogs and spending time in nature (especially by the beach and the river). Cathy speaks fluent French and dreams of one day spending time in France again and travelling. In the meantime she enjoys French films and values time with her children, family and friends, cooking, hiking and camping.
